Macquarie University and Nanjing Normal University today announced a proposal for a new joint institute to foster academic collaboration and nurture international talent between Australia and China.

The institute, to be located in Nanjing, will focus on a bespoke number of dual degree programs across a range of fields, enabling students to gain the benefit of a transformative educational experience delivered in partnership by both institutions.

Macquarie University and Nanjing Normal University have a history of collaboration that spans more than 20 years, built upon a strong foundation of shared values and a commitment to high quality education and student wellbeing. Professor Hua Guihong, President of Nanjing Normal University, and Professor S Bruce Dowton, Vice-Chancellor of Macquarie University, commit to further collaboration between their respective institutions.

“We are delighted to celebrate this important milestone which deepens our longstanding partnership with Nanjing Normal University,” said Professor S Bruce Dowton, Vice-Chancellor of Macquarie University.

“This collaboration reflects Macquarie’s commitment to international engagement and our drive to develop innovative, world-class educational opportunities.”

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Rorden Wilkinson added, “This joint institute will leverage the strengths of both institutions to create a world-class educational hub. By combining our expertise and resources, we will provide students with transformative global learning experiences.”
