Macquarie University has won $2.1 million of Australian Research Council funding to support a new Industrial Transformation Training Centre program.
The centre will provide world-class research training to the next generation of scientists, modernising the food industry by bringing state-of-the-art molecular analytical technologies into the mainstream of the food supply chain.
This project, one of only four successfully funded proposals across Australia, aims to develop a molecular technology platform to enable the next revolution in the food industry.
“Society needs new approaches for solving the difficulties of providing enough food for the future. This training centre will assist the whole process of taking food production from ‘field to fork’,” says project leader Professor Paul Haynes.
