The inaugural National Excellence Award for Tertiary Technical staff (NEATT) was awarded to Rekha Joshi, Senior Technical Manager with the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
The award is administered by Technet Australia, and announced at the technical staff conference hosted by the University of Canberra (Nov 26- 28).

This is the first time Technical staff have been recognized at the National level, and is certainly a reason to celebrate. We have come a long way in the last five years and this award feels like a feather in the cap to seal all our achievements. I thank all my team members for the support, shoulders to lean on and big smiles (when I needed it the most)”

The inaugural cohort of students has embarked on a transformative global education journey this month through the newly launched Nanjing Normal University Macquarie University Joint Institute (NMJI) in China.
Three Macquarie University scientists have been named 2025 Young Tall Poppy winners, two in NSW and one in the Northern Territory, in recognition of their research excellence and community engagement.
Macquarie University’s Australian Astronomical Optics (AAO) has developed innovative space imaging technology to allow satellites to quickly point a camera at moving objects in space, debuting a prototype at the 2025 International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Sydney from 29 September.
