Are you an arts or media graduate who wants to develop your entrepreneurial knowledge and learn how to apply your artistic creativity within an industrial context?

Macquarie University has recently launched a new postgraduate degree, the Master of Creative Industries, to prepare you for an exciting career both in media and creative industries.

The Master of Creative Industries will provide students with the practical skills needed to design and deliver their creative projects for a range of platforms and media. Through this course, students will gain an in-depth understanding of new technologies, emerging creative industry practices, and entrepreneurship models for creative media.

Students can build on their previous studies and professional experience to specialise in audio and music production or in screen media production. To complete the degree, students will be required to complete a significant production folio to professional standards in their chosen area of specialisation, and to do an internship within a creative industries workplace.

Master of Creative Industries students will be mentored by award-winning academics and industry experts from the music and screen industries, and will have access to industry-standard production studios.

Professor Julian Knowles, a renowned composer, performer and record producer, is one of the unit convenors for Master of Creative Industries. He says, "I'm very excited to be joining Macquarie on this venture to deliver the best and most relevant music and screen production program in the sector – a truly world-class production degree for the 21st century."

Graduates of Master of Creative Industries can pursue a career across the music, media and screen industries – in record production, sound design, film and television, radio, online production, documentary screen, independent film, multimedia or digital agencies, and in broadcast and community media.

The Master of Creative Industries will be offered starting Session 1, 2016. To learn more about this exciting course, visit our courses website.
