Eight students from Macquarie University have been awarded prestigious 2025 New Colombo Plan (NCP) Scholarships and will participate in language training and mentorships across the Asia Pacific region.

The New Colombo Plan, an initiative of the Australian Government, aims to strengthen ties with Australia’s regional neighbours, while supporting students in their personal and professional development. These opportunities will allow them to gain valuable skills, immerse themselves in new cultures and build global networks.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Rorden Wilkinson, said the scholarships highlight the University's exceptionally talented students and its commitment to fostering global engagement and understanding.

“These scholarships provide an exciting opportunity for our students to immerse themselves in other cultures and gain skills and experiences that will shape their futures,” he said.

“Our students’ involvement strengthens Australia’s ties with the Asia Pacific region and reflects the value of international collaboration in education. We are proud of our students and are excited to see the positive impact they will make.”
