The National Health and Medical Research Council have released outcomes of the latest round of funding towards medical infrastructure and research. Four medical researchers at Macquarie University have been successful in securing funding for a range of new and continuing projects, including:

- Developing and testing pro-thrombotic conjugates for brain AVMs, led by Professor Marcus Stoodley, who secured an NHMRC Project Grant of $502,592 over three years.
- Disruption to intracellular trafficking as a central pathogenic mechanism in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), led by Associate Professor Julie Atkin, who secured an NHMRC Project Grant of $664,154 over four years.
- Saving the optic nerve: manipulating the Shp2-Caveolin axis, led by Professor Stuart Graham, who secured an NHMRC Project Grant of $529,499 over three years.
- Unravelling the molecular basis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, led by Dr Kelly Williams, who secured an Early Career Fellowship (Australia) of $309,436 over four years.
