“I start work at 7:30am and then spend my nights studying for my physics bridging course. I hope to begin studying Applied Radiology here at Macquarie. I love to go to the gym when I have free time, it’s a really good way to relax and unwind.

When I turned 30, I realised how demanding this job is and that I would have to stop eventually. So, I thought about what I really wanted to do in the future, and I enrolled in my course.
I don’t want this to be just a job, I am here every day and I want to do it well. I like seeing people happy. I have regular customers and I get very excited about what kind of conversations we’re going to have.
I love learning things about coffee, like the complexity and different tasting notes.
Those conversations are mostly about coffee. I love learning things about it, like the complexity and different tasting notes, that I might not have known before.
I once had a customer who ordered an extra hot decaf, almond latte with five sugars. Five sugars is ridiculous! That’s a bit too intense for me but I respect it.
You can tell when people order single or double espressos, they must really need the hit to wake them up. And then in the afternoon people order flat white or latte just to keep them going."
